A Slovenian called Žiga Žiga shared his wicked DIY board on the Electric Skateboard Users facebook group. Most surprisingly, he did not just buy parts. But constructed a deck out of an actual tree log. Yes. He call’s it the Drva. It means The Log in Slovenian.
It’s not all looks. He did his best to make his board weatherproof. “I sealed it with silicone so its pretty waterproof. I also made 4 layers of SiO2 with gloss paint on top for grip. Made some cuts at the end too for better up hill grip.”
If you were thinking that this design is unridable, think again. Žiga has already tested his board on his way to work. Traveling 20 km without problems. He also shares that a curved deck has it’s advantages: “The curve of the log gives you unique rinding properties that are hard to explain but when you lean your feet hug the log”. – Yes, we think this is a barefoot design. Look out for winters Žiga!
